Head of Sustainability

The Head of Sustainability is a role of substantial responsibility and accountability. A highly visible role with ultimate responsibility to the Managing Director and the Board. There will be opportunities for an entrepreneurial Head of Sustainability to contribute to not only the growth, but also the strategic direction of the business.

To provide effective Sustainability consulting, operations, planning and analysis for the organisation. To support these areas in achieving the strategic ambitions and aims of the Company.

The Head of Sustainability is required to develop and grow Wintech’s Sustainability function, for the next stage of growth and development of the business.

Location: Wolverhampton & London

Role and responsibilities:

  • Lead, develop, influence, and deliver the organisation’s internal and external sustainability strategy throughout the group
  • Develop a client base and represent Wintech with regard to the delivery of Sustainability consultancy services
  • Preparation and negotiation of fee proposals for Sustainability services
  • Be a sustainability advocate that drives positive innovation and change across the group and wider industry
  • Communicate sustainability knowledge to employees within the group via CPDs or other forms of communication
  • Project management of Sustainability Client instructions
  • Be responsible for all corporate sustainability aspects of the Group
  • Ensure compliance and stay current with all applicable sustainability guidance, and requirements. Keep abreast of pending and future changes
  • Identify and deliver energy saving opportunities and renewable energy generation for the head office, Quartz House, and assist in delivering a net zero carbon building
  • Principal Consultant for external sustainability services, supported by existing staff to deliver:
    • Operational energy/carbon analysis
    • Whole building and façade embodied carbon analysis
    • Life cycle analysis
    • Net zero building analysis
    • Building physics and thermal modelling analysis
    • BREEAM, LEED and other sustainability compliance tool analysis
    • Renewable energy consultancy
    • Sustainable facades technologies, including green walls and integrated PV panels etc.,
    • Overheating and daylighting assessments

  • You will be an acknowledged leader in sustainability in the built environment
  • You will be a natural communicator, able to create a client network for delivery of our Sustainability Consultancy services
  • You will be organised, driven energetic and ambitious
  • Excellent communicator and presenter at all levels
  • Ability to analyse and make recommendations, alongside the capacity to drive through key business changes
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of financial issues
