In-House Paralegal

Wintech provides independent façade engineering consultancy services that are aimed at improving the quality of the envelope of a building whilst reducing cost and risk to the client.  We are looking to recruit a Paralegal who will be assisting with the review and negotiation of commercial contracts and other legal documents.

Job Purpose:

Based at our Head office in Wolverhampton and reporting to our Managing Director, this role will require the individual to review and negotiate contracts with clients. He/she will also provide advice and support on contractual and contentious legal matters to ensure that Wintech is compliant, and that risk is effectively managed.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Review and negotiate commercial contracts.
  • Draft legal documents including letters and variations to contracts.
  • Bind and arrange for the execution of legal documents.
  • Provide ad-hoc legal advice and guidance as may be required from time to time.
  • Supporting technical staff with expert witness reports.
  • Administrative tasks including sending order acknowledgements to clients and scanning correspondence received.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Legal experience in contract drafting and contract negotiation (preferable but is not essential).
  • Analytical skills, ability to deliver straightforward, pragmatic, action-oriented advice.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively, to identify and resolve legal issues.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must possess a high level of integrity and professionalism.

Possess highly developed organisational skills and be articulate, detail-oriented and hard-working.

Essential Requirements:

  • Law Degree
  • Microsoft Office skills (primarily Outlook, Word & Excel)

Further Training Opportunities:

Additional training can be provided for Contract Law through the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
