Earth Overshoot Day marks the point where we begin to overuse the Earth’s resources beyond its regenerative capacity for the rest of the year. This day serves as a stark reminder of the consequences of humanity’s ecological footprint, with the UN recently warning that “the era of global boiling has arrived”.
Against this backdrop, we are proud to announce that our Head Office in Wolverhampton is operating as Net Zero. The transformation process to Net Zero underlines our commitment towards supporting the built environment and the UK Government’s Net Zero ambitions.
We are delighted to share that Nitisha Vedula has been shortlisted for Young Façade Engineer of the Year in the 2023 Façade Design and Engineering Awards. Congratulations to Nitisha from all of us at Wintech.
The awards will take place on 8 November, at the London Hilton on Park Lane and will once again be co-located with the Zak World of Façades London conference.
In building upon our existing partnership with the University of Wolverhampton and supporting their Summer School Programme, Wintech’s Senior Façade Engineer, Dale McAvoy, provided a CPD about the Façade Engineering discipline to an undergraduate audience of Quantity Surveyors and Building Control Surveyors in apprentice placements. The session also covered a Q&A section which covered the importance of the Building Safety Act.
