Design & Consultancy on 2 Arena Central

Wintech are delighted to have been appointed on 2 Arena Central which will be the new headquarters for HSBC in Birmingham.

Designed by Make Architects, the new public realm will overlook Centenary Square and Broad Street in Birmingham.  The project forms part of the redevelopment of the city centre and has been designed as three interlocking blocks featuring offset balconies providing exceptional views.

Arena Central will be made up of mixed-use developments and work is already underway on the first phase of the 9.2 acre site with a target of BREEAM Excellent. The Grade A offices of 2 Arena Central were forward-purchased by HSBC on a 250-year lease.

The building’s distinct façade features woven cladding patterns that subtly transform as they wrap around the building presenting a calm and elegant façade to Centenary Square and a softer, rippling pattern facing onto the heart of Arena Central. Wintech have been appointed by Galliford Try to carry out the full detailed design on 2 Arena Central as well as to deliver supporting façade consultancy services and site monitoring throughout the project.
