2 New Bailey Square Tops Out
Two New Bailey Square has reached another construction milestone. The external frame inspired by the nearby Irwell Street Bridge has been completed. The external steelwork facilitates the design of open floorplates, providing solar shading, as well as referencing the spirit of Salford’s industry through the elegantly fabricated façade.

The Grade A BREEAM Salford, Manchester scheme is an eleven storey office building. Levels 2 to 10 façades comprise of an aluminium unitised curtain walling system. The typical floor height is 4.0 m floor to floor, and each typical curtain walling unit is 4.0m high by 1.5m wide and comprises of a glazed element and a spandrel panel element of 2m height each. Level 0 and 1 façades comprise of a combination of aluminium and timber stick curtain walling systems.


Wintech have been actively involved in providing full scope of façade consultancy services for the prominent office block. Services include specification writing, design audit, witnessing of prototype testing, carrying out factory and site monitoring visits.

Two New Bailey Square is part of the New Bailey masterplan for a key site linking Salford and Manchester and is due for completion by the end of July 2020.
