Wintech acquires AVUS Consulting to boost net zero ambitions
Wintech has put the fight against climate change at the core of its strategy with the acquisition of a prominent building engineers AVUS Consulting Ltd, who are based in Northamptonshire. This strategic move is aligned with our ambition to support the nation’s net zero building transformation requirement.

Founded in 2003, AVUS Consulting brings to the table a unique perspective and extensive hands-on knowledge gained from their experience in services contracting. Their client-centric approach and shared ambition to contribute to a sustainable future were the driving forces behind this acquisition. By joining forces, we aim to strengthen our core solutions in Façade Engineering & Design Consultancy, while enhancing our existing services in Sustainability, Façade Access & Maintenance, and Fire Engineering expertise.
Following the decision of AVUS’s Managing Director, Martin Fern, to sell the business as part of his longer term retirement plans, Principal Engineer Sarah Southgate will step into his role and lead Wintech’s M&E division.

Fostering strong partnerships
Paul Savidge, Wintech’s Managing Director, stated, “At Wintech, we pride ourselves on our collaborative approach that fosters strong partnerships with our valued clients. As a team we thrive on our innate problem-solving abilities, driven by our shared commitment to be catalysts for change in achieving Net Zero across the UK’s built environment. We appreciate there’s a great challenge ahead to ensure all buildings, both refurbished and newbuild, can deliver on Net Zero targets. As an industry we owe it to our communities to be proactive and make a real difference with actions, not words. This acquisition is an essential part of that process toward making a significant and lasting difference.”
Paul further adds, “This move demonstrates our ambition, commitment, and dedication to support new and existing Wintech clients and will bring a range of new capabilities and skills to support not only Wintech but AVUS’s clientele. It will strengthen Wintech’s thriving consulting services and will support the teams’ growth in the UK.”
Principal Engineer Sarah Southgate expressed her enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “This is an exciting time for AVUS. The support and growth opportunities provided by Wintech will enable us to continue to support our existing clients whilst greatly expanding our sustainability offering. We are thrilled to join forces with Wintech and combine their extensive resources with our specialised knowledge in M&E, to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions that will make a tangible impact in creating energy-efficient buildings for a greener future. This move not only enhances our capabilities but also signifies our shared commitment to proactive action and making a real difference in the industry and the communities we serve.”
