Wintech welcome James Lane as Director of Fire Engineering

Wintech are delighted to announce the appointment of their Director of Fire Engineering James Lane. James has this week stepped into his new role which will see him lead the company’s Fire Consultancy arm, shaping and strengthening the next chapter of Wintech’s journey to provide unified services to their clients.

James joins Wintech from BB7 Consulting Ltd as Director and has a broad experience of fire consultancy with Arup Fire and Tenos Ltd & senior positions at SAFE Ltd (Now Ramboll) and Hilson Moran, bringing a wealth of insight to the role.  A Chartered Engineer (CEng) in Fire Safety Consulting and Fellow of the Institution of Fire Engineers (FIFireE), he has worked on a range of project types including commercial, assembly, retail, industrial and more recently extensively in the residential sector.

Wintech are recognised as one of the UK’s largest Façade Engineering Consultancies and are now aiming to build on their undoubted success over the next decade, which will see the Group increase in size. Wintech have been building upon its core offering of Façade & Design engineering, recently introducing and strengthening other services such as MEP, Façade Access & Maintenance, Sustainability and Fire Engineering Consultancy.

Beyond his involvement with project work, James also contributes to the furtherance of fire engineering as a profession through his engagement with the IFE as a Chartered Engineer applications reviewer and interviewer, and as a current member of the board of trustees at the IFE. James is also a recognised specialist in fire safety engineering and provides his respected opinion to the British Standards Institute (BSI) as a member of the review and drafting panel for key fire safety codes of practice such as BS9991 and BS9999.

This new appointment further strengthens not only the Group’s Fire Consultancy Services but as a building engineering consultancy service provider, we continue to grow our expertise and support more clients to design and deliver their project aspirations.
