33 Central, King William Street

33 Central is an office refurbishment development recently sold as the American bank Wells Fargo’s new headquarters for £300 million.

Located close to the Bank of England, the 225,000 square foot office block will feature a rooftop garden and views of the River Thames. The project by John Robertson Architects and developed by HB Reavis will be 11 storeys achieving a BREEAM “Excellent” standard once completed in 2017.

It was the architects aspiration to use a range of different façade types; the facade will be an important component in creating a distinctive urban community. The building envelope will feature a vertical gridwork of faience panels, coloured in relation to neighbouring buildings using a palette ranging from off-white to terracotta. The ground floor will have full height glazing, maximising natural light and outside space.

Wintech were the Facade Consultants on the development.
