Designed by global architectural practice Scott Brownrigg on polygonal plan, the J1 Tower is part of Phase 4B of the Centenary Quay mixed-use scheme. The façade will be formed of unitised curtain walling elements, comprising fully glazed vision and spandrel units, a combination of sliding and side-hung door units on the balconies, and opaque units faced with extruded rainscreen panels. The external finishes of the façade are specified as anodised for extended service life and durability, due to the harsh marine environment.

The façade will adapt a ‘unitised’ approach to construction as it facilitates pre-fabrication, reducing installation time and H&S risks on site and resulting in completed quality.

Every apartment will contain access to individual balconies, and level 23 will have access to a fully-fledged terrace due to the building’s smaller plan from level 23 to 26. The façade will achieve a totally unique appearance, almost irregular, with the glazed and rainscreen elements changing positions from floor to floor. Part of the ground floor and first floor façades comprise of aluminium stick curtain wall.
