The Rotunda, Birmingham has stood as an iconic cylindrical high-rise tower in the city centre since its completion in 1965. It has since been given a facelift with the original façades removed and replaced with a unitised curtain walling system.
Located at the North West of the renowned Bullring shopping centre premises, the award-winning Rotunda holds 234 apartments and is 82m tall. With 72 windows each floor, full height floor-to-ceiling glazing provide natural light and unparalleled views. The original horizontal banding has been retained on the Grade II listed building.
Wintech worked closely with Glenn Howell Architects and clients Urban Splash to develop a façade engineering strategy that matched the architectural aspirations. Services provided include initial concept design and detailing, and on-site assurance services.
