Two New Bailey Square

Red steel and glass helps form the bold Two New Bailey Square in Salford, Manchester. Designed by AHMM Architects, the 11 storey development covers 24,000 sq m of office space with a Grade A BREEAM “Excellent” specification.

The building envelope is formed by a unitised curtain wall to all elevations from Level 2 to 11, with a fully glazed façade on the North Elevation to the staircase. A combination of timber and aluminium framed stick curtain walling is used at the ground floor and first floors. An external frame inspired by the red painted steel at the nearby Irwell Street Bridge envelopes the building. Its exposed elements are designed to provide solar shading as well as referencing the spirit of Salford’s industry through the elegantly fabricated façade.

Wintech has an active involvement throughout the development of the prominent office block, providing full consultancy services. These include specification writing, design audits, design development, prototype testing, witnessing factory visits and site monitoring visits.
